What should I bring?
In addition to your own personal belongings, you should consider bringing life jackets for non swimmers and children, a flashlight, an umbrella, and beach towels. There are coin operated washers and dryers, as well as, pop/soda/ice vending machines.

What are the check in/out times?
Generally, check in is 4 pm on the arrival day and 10 am check out on the departure day. Early check-ins and late check-outs may be arranged on the day of arrival/departure. Extra charges may apply.

What do you accept for payment of my account?
We accept Canadian/US cash, certified cheques or travelers cheques, Visa, Mastercard and Amex. Unless prior credit is established, we do not accept personal cheques. US currency is welcome at the prevailing exchange rate.

What happens if I have to cancel my reservation?
If written cancellation notice is received at least 21 days prior to your arrival date, your deposit will be refunded minus a $25 book keeping charge. As is the policy with most resorts, guest who cancel part of their reservation within 21 days of arrival or depart prior to their confirmed departure date will be charged the regular season daily rate for the days stayed, and will forfeit their deposit unless we are able to rent their accommodation on the same day they depart for the full period of their stay.

How can I reach a guest at Severn Lodge?
Dial 705-756-2722 and key in the guests’ room number after the prompt. If you do not know the guests’ room number the operator will connect you.

Am I allowed to bring my pet?
Pets are not permitted at Severn Lodge. Please inquire about kennels that are located nearby.

What is the weather like?
The weather and temperatures at Severn Lodge are much the same as most of our bordering Great Lake states. During the summer months, temperatures generally range from 24-30 degrees Celsius (75-90 Fahrenheit). Spring and fall temperatures are slightly cooler. Severn Lodge is not open during the winter months.

What is Severn Lodge's operating season?
Generally, we’re open from mid-May to mid-October each year.

How far is Severn Lodge from Toronto?
Severn Lodge is about 150 km (90 miles) from Toronto, a short 90 minute drive.

How far in advance should I make reservations?
Severn Lodge receives many advance reservations. Generally, many guests make their reservations for the following year when they check out, so it is a good idea to make your reservations as early as possible. Don’t hesitate to call anytime, as we do have cancellations from time to time.

Do all packages include meals?
Generally, most leisure guests on fully inclusive packages will receive breakfast, lunch, and dinner for each full day they are here in the summer months and breakfast and dinner in the spring and fall months. Special packages may be different, so it is wise to confirm what your package includes. Housekeeping cottage guests do not have any meals included in their package, but are welcome to purchase a meal package or meals individually.

Is there a dress code?
The dress code in our dining room is casual resort wear (including shoes and shirts).

Do I receive daily maid service?
Guests staying on one of our fully inclusive packages will receive daily maid service. Guests staying on a housekeeping package will not.

Why are single occupancy rates higher?
Single occupancy rates are higher because they include the full price of the room, whereas the double occupancy rate includes only ½ the price of the room.

Do I need a fishing licence to fish?
Generally if you are a resident over 18 years and under 65 years old, you require a resident fishing license. Non-residents 18 years of age and older require a non-resident fishing license. For further details visit the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Is there an age restriction on renting motorized watercraft?
Yes, you must be 18 years of age or older to rent or drive an outboard boat or jet ski.

When do you offer supervised kids activities?
Generally, we offer supervised kids activities for ages 2-12 years from the last week in June through Labour Day Weekend, and then again on Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend.

Are there activities for teens?
Although not highly structured, there are many activities for teens including water-skiing, tubing (sea wasp), canoeing, kayaking, pedal boating, sailing, volleyball, use of games room and more.

Do you offer evening entertainment?
Yes, we offer live evening entertainment during our summer months. These generally consist of an approximately 1 ½ hour performance that is suitable for all audiences.

What about smoking?
All guest rooms, and all other indoor areas including the dining room are smoke free.

Do US Residents need additional documentation to come to Canada?
The answer is no. However, you should bring as much documentation as you currently have with regards to your certificate of birth, residency, and citizenship. When entering or re-entering the US a passport is required by US Immigrations.
